Charity Abraham

University of Cape Coast Cooperative Credit Union Ltd.

Charity Abraham is a 2024 WOCCU Fellow who serves as Board Chair for University of Cape Coast Cooperative Credit Union Ltd., in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Charity's candidacy for the Fellowship had the enthusiastic endorsement of the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA), a WOCCU direct member. 

She is the first female Board Chair of Cape Coast Cooperative Credit Union Ltd. since it began operations in 1998, and is one of the few women to serve as a credit union board chair in Africa.

Charity has also proactively worked to significantly increase female representation on her board. With three women now serving as directors, Cape Coast Cooperative Credit Union Ltd. has one of the highest levels of female board representation among credit unions in Ghana. 

She will serve as a Board Fellow through WOCCU's 2025 Annual General Meeting.
