WOCCU Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
2020-03-16The collective well-being of our global credit union community is the most important thing to World Council of Credit Unions. During uncertain times, credit unions have always stepped up to respond to the needs of their members and their communities. It has never been more important that we step up to follow those principles now as we all confront the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
At World Council, we are monitoring the COVID-19 global situation daily. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides daily reports on the outbreak of 2019-nCoV at: https://www.who.int/.
World Council has significantly reduced staff travel during this crisis to safeguard the health and safety of our employees and of our member organizations. This decision is based on recommendations provided by the WHO and will be reevaluated as conditions change.
World Council remains committed to maintaining support to our members as we chart our way through this challenging period. While we may not be able to be present physically in the near term, we will communicate with you via virtual means. We will continue to manage travel and meetings in light of continuing WHO recommendations.
We wish safety and good health for you, your families and your colleagues.
