Isabel Varnado

Head of Operations and Compliance

Isabel Varnado currently serves as Director of Compliance for World Council of Credit Unions, wherein she provides compliance leadership, tools and operational solutions for project and enterprise implementation. Isabel’s work bridges the gaps between legal services and international compliance best practices and standards setting.

With varied professional experiences, Isabel brings an inclusive, results-driven approach in having worked with entities such as World Bank, Graham Holdings Company, Save the Children and Universal Service Administration Company. Isabel also has a passion for sustainable practices and child advocacy, accordingly, offering her expertise to local and global non-profit boards serving these initiatives.

Isabel holds her Juris Doctorate and master’s degree in International Management from Georgetown University and Law Center. She also obtained a master’s degree in Organizational Strategic Management from Norwich University. Additionally, she is certified as a Project Management Professional, Continuity of Operations Practitioner, and as a Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance.
