World Council's Climate Influencers Network is connecting local action to global impact and positioning credit unions to play a larger role in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today. It will require cooperation on a global scale. Credit unions have a unique role as member-owned cooperative financial institutions; they prioritize community resilience and long-term sustainability. This is an opportunity for credit unions to innovate, serve member needs and expand relevance.

The Climate Influencers Network is leveraging the power of cooperation to accelerate opportunities in climate finance and replicate solutions across World Council's global network. It's a platform for learning and exchange to support credit unions on a journey to sustainability. Network participants will:

• Gain inspiration from credit unions that have championed the business case for sustainability

• Find resources for credit unions to take practical steps on the journey toward a low-carbon economy

• Explore strategies for mitigating the climate risks that will impact credit unions and the communities they serve

• Accelerate the development of green products and services, from solar and EV lending to environmental restoration and conservation programs

• Champion climate justice for those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change
